Macarico
The winery, founded in 2001 from Rino Botte, and recently acquired from the more famous “Cantine del Notaio” vineyard estates, takes its name from the homonymous location, in the countryside of Barile village, Potenza province, in the beautiful volcanic and wild area of the Vulture, Basilicata, south of Italy. The viticultural project is intended to revamp the wine making process of the two top wines into a more natural and organic process, extremely high density of plantation (over 9,000 vines per hectare), restrained yield, very ripe fruit, lavish tannins and a certain important hand in the ageing interaction with the use of barriques.
